Hi and welcome to my first official post on my first blog!

So why does the web need another blog, and what will my blog be about?

     I'm not sure it does need another one, but i've been playing around creating offline sites and i figured it's about time i tried going live. And hopefully the name gives you a big clue to what this blog will mostly be about - actionscript programming. But there will also be some general computer stuff, web stuff and live things - so if you want to know about what i'm learning about actionscript in particular AS3, and maybe what i had for dinner today - then you've found the right blog.

Where did i get the idea for a blog of this kind, and why do i think it's a good idea?

     I could pretend it was all my own idea, but one of the reason i started learning actionscript was down to a very nice chap and his pretty useful blog about his experience trying to earn money from making flash games - http://www.emanueleferonato.com/ his site is definitely worth bookmarking! Surely then, theres no need for me to make a blog about actionscript if other people are already doing it? Well i don't intend to give the source code away to "mini" games for people to use - i'm going to work on some ideas and hopefully provide useful classes that help everyone build software easier in AS3, and compile a helpful list of things I've learnt and stumbled upon along the way to being a better programmer in AS3, and hope this proves useful to some people. If your looking for complete flash game source code, then this probably isn't the blog for you! There are already numerous blogs and tutorials and websites with source code to other peoples flash games. I'm going to be concentrating on open source tools like flashdevelop and working with AS3 outside of the ADOBE CS3 IDE, from a programmers point of view. Feel free to leave comments, and things you'd like to see on this blog, i will always try and make time to help others learning actionscript. Keep coming back regularly, the first few posts may be about more general topics, and then when i have some solid useful actionscript classes and information i'll start posting them, after all - this is what my blog is all about!
